The VL Airbrush features a chrome plated body and parts for durability. Included with the airbrush are all three available spray heads, which allow the VL to be used for most any application. The VL is double action and allows the user to achieve fine lines down to 1/32-inch and wider patterns up to 1-1/2-inch. A PTFE packing enables the VL to handle any water or solvent based paint. The roller in front of the trigger allows the VL to be used as a single action airbrush for those desiring simpler control. Clean up is as simple as spraying your paint cleaner though the airbrush and wiping of the needle. Paasche VL Airbrush can be used for many applications including hobby, craft, automotive, t-shirts, taxidermy, ceramics, cake decorating, tanning, tattoos, etc. The VL airbrush is made in the US and includes the following: VL#3 airbrush, size 1 and 5 spray heads, 1/4-ounce metal cup, 1-ounce bottle assembly, 1-ounce storage bottle, hanger, wrench, 6-foot braided hose, lessons booklet and manual.

Yes, it's true I have no prior airbrush experience, but:I expected it to be easier to use in general, mechanically if not ergonomically as well; There is nothing smooth about the trigger, despite much reading and studying, many adjustments, full dis- and re-assemblings, cleaning and lube, much practice and more practice - the trigger never gets any smoother - fine adjustments of the trigger pull seem impossible due to the trigger's roughness and heavy pull. Once the trigger's resistance is overcome, then it's very difficult to achieve anything but a full-blast trigger pull; It's inconsistent - getting a halfway decent spray pattern in no way indicates that I will get anything like that the next time I pull the trigger (did I mention the trigger is not smooth?);With the bottle attached it is quite unwieldy to hold and use, nothing at all like "holding a pen;"I have not found a way to make it act as a single-action like the product description says. The adjuster runs out of threads before I get there Maybe I can jam some sort of shim in there to hold the trigger more rearward. It's not like I am trying to be an airbrush artist or anything fancy like that - all I want to do is lay down relatively smooth coats of paint on model cars, but I'm afraid to try, as consistent coats have so far proven elusive on paper as practice.Unfortunately I am fully invested in Paasche products, as I bought one of their compressors as well (which seems OK, by the way). So now if I want to get another brand of airbrush I'll have to figure out what hose adapters I need and buy them. Or I may decide I've thrown enough money at this and just dump the whole lot on Craigslist - airbrush, paints and the other liquids, compressor, and model kits, and oh yeah, the 20' Paasche air hose I bought. This whole experience has been a bit disappointing at the least.I love the airbrush, but mine came with 2 damaged components. Amazon did good by me by knocking the price in half, so I'm quite satisfied.... I was able to pick up the damaged parts locally as I needed the airbrush as soon as I received it. I make multiple styles and types of custom fishing lures, jigs, poppers etc...and I'm learning to custom paint crankbaits and make them look professional. With acrylic paint I'm able to spray with this brush with a measly 7 psi ...compared to my old single action brush that is a humongous difference. The other benefits of this airbrush are the 3 needle/head combinations it comes with... you can do broad coverage all the way down to a hairline...and I do mean hairline. I also use this brush for weathering & painting my N scale railroad engines, rolling stock, buildings and scenery. I also help my sons build models and I paint them. I can apply such light coats with this that the finish almost always comes out flawless assuming it is properly prepped. When I receive an item, I expect it to work out of the box. I have yet to try this airbrush because the female hose adapter does not fit ANY standard male air compressor regulator threads I have tried. I'm heading to the local DIY store tomorrow, and IF I can find a suitable adapter and get to try this product out, I'll update my review. Until then, it gets 2 stars.EDIT:You need a 1/4" male-to-male adapter to hook it up from a standard compressor regulator to the included airline.Other points:- The airline hookup to the brush is a weird diameter, which necessitates the use of the included air hose. This means that the brush must have a dedicated airline and cannot be quick-swapped easily. To some this isn't a big deal.- The airline hookup to the brush isn't very secure on my model, even with PTFE tape. When the hose wiggles at all, you can hear pressure escaping the airline at the connection to the brush.- The quality of the brush is okay for a beginner. However, I found that the brush is quite fiddly depending on paint consistency, which varies by brand and how much thinner medium you use. Even with thinned paint the brush sometimes sputters and produces little flow, causing me to push on the action to increase the flow, resulting in the brush spurting out a huge mess everywhere.I'm only giving this product 3 stars because it leaves a lot to be desired. The price point is okay for the mediocre quality, but I'd honestly rather spend $50 more for a much better brush.Great item, Love it.I purchased the Paasche airbrush to paint pieces of my model railroad structures, scenery and rolling stock using acrylic paints. I received the unit and had trouble with the airline hooking up to the airbrush. I emailed Paasche off their website on a Sunday to see if they could help and received an email back that day saying they'd contact customer service to determine the best way to resolve (yes on a SUNDAY!...GREAT SERVICE). I was in contact with a service person who had me check a couple of things and ended up replacing the hose which arrived in a few days. The new one worked perfectly. The unit functions very well and has lots of adjustments which I'll have to learn how to adapt to. It has lots of accessories to offer different ways to paint with (bottles, cups, spray size needles, etc.) which make it adaptable to almost any type of need. I really like the holder they offer to keep the brush up right when you are painting with the cup. It isn't as necessary when using the bottles, but still nice to have. All in all, a great tool for painting.Been wanting a Paasche air brush forever. I've used other brands and designs but I'm always drawn back to my roots. I learned air brushing with a Paasche so it feels good to return to an old friend. This kit has 3 different tips that suits my needs perfectly and I really love how easy these are to clean. These dual action's have been around forever so there is no shortage in finding replacement seals, needles, and tips. Also like the braided hose that doesn't tangle up like the badger stuff does. Good work horse air brush can't good wrong. This is the third VL airbrush I've bought and that's in 30 years... what a brilliant of kit. Should last for ever really - the last one only became a problem because I hadn't used it in a long time and when I stripped it down I dropped a very small part which disappeared as small parts do... Could have replaced the missing bit but I thought - it's been used an awful lot, maybe it's time for a new one! Wouldn't use anything else.Am unable to use the product as the threads are not standard BSP. Hose coupling to airbrush is paasche only and coupling to compressor is paasche only. Very frustrated. If only product description had included this info I would not have purchased it. Now I have to return it. I have checked mfr website and there is now adapter to solve this problemGreat piece ofcequipmentGood on spraying small repairs. I’m very happy with it.Avevo molti dubbi su quale aerografo acquistare, dato che non ho nessuna esperienza in merito. L'ho acquistato per colorare il Millennium Falcon della De Agostini, e a pennello o spray sarebbe troppo difficile da colorare. I giudizi di chi aveva già acquistato il Paasche mi sono sembrati ottimi, e altri tutorial su Youtube ne parlavano molto bene per cui ho proceduto all'acquisto. Sono molto soddisfatto per ora del prodotto, si smonta e si pulisce facilmente, e anche l'utilizzo per me che sono alle prime armi è molto comodo.
